Body float on a Parma Edge chassis, is it needed?

I build all my chassis but my son is building his first drag car. We decided to just build it on a edge chassis and the question has come up, do we need to float the body? It seems with such a stiff chassis that it wouldn't matter, but I may be wrong.

Please enlighten me so I can guide him correctly.

I 'float" ALL my bodies. Even my 1.990 bracket cars. I'm sure one of the body GOD's can give you the technical/aerodynamic reasons, but I do all my cars.

That would be great to know why we float the bodies as I didnt know this in the past and am now converting all my older chassis to see how they do.

Seems there is a Edge chassis set up thread some where, but I can only find referances to it, but not the actual thread?
