Drieshaft build

http://i1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj558/Ben_Kernan/720BampB1.jpg

Starting a B&B driveshaft build, parts look simple enough... going to get the basic drivetrain done, then decide on wheelbase & body. Ultimatly this will probably end up with some flavor of Gp 20 in it.

1100 degrees & sots af acid flux later... main cleanup done, still a little grinding of excess solder for cosmetic purposes to do.

Re: Drieshaft build

Pretty sure it will be a no bar something, just not sure whether it will be a door car or rail... Rails are a pain to paint in lexan...

Re: Drieshaft build

Ran into a problem... Seems that the largest pinion this chassis will take is a 14... Tried to use a 15, not enough  room to get a good gear mesh with a standard ARP crown gear... Anyone else run into this problem?

Re: Drieshaft build

BTW looks like this will be going under a DRS Wedge dragster body. Currently PS 2003 power.

Finished & runs nicely down the track. Final power is Gp 12, 14/48, 1" x .300. Best run @ SlotCar Cave's 1000' below

Re: Drieshaft build

You may want to add a body mount to the rear by the tires to support the body so it doesn't get pushed down onto the tires and kill a bunch of ET and MPH.

Re: Drieshaft build

Was wondering if that was appropriate for this body...

Re: Drieshaft build

The original DRS chassis that this body was made for uses a mount up front like you have, and another one just above and behind the rear tires.
