next rail

Jigging up for a rail
The future is wide open...
WRP brass bracket, JDS .082 SS tubing; Anyone think this rearend could be a little stronger with some non-intrusive .047 wire bracing. Just looks a little weak with just solder holding such an important junction together... that may be the road racer coming out in me. No bar planned for this build. Planning on 11.5" length; Will be putting a u brace between main rails immediatly in front of motor.

Re: next rail

Making progress, building on Jig that is a little short for this lengthh of car, but adaptations can be made. Main rails are only about 8 inches long, & body dictates a 9.25 wb, so there will be a couple of peices of .055 piano wire between the guide tounge & the SS tube rails. Haven't made up my mind on what kind of power I will put in this kritter yet, there are lots of options...

Re: next rail

Its finished & fast!

Will  get a pic of the finished chassis soon, I am very happy with this one. Currently has 14/48 Gears, .980 x.450s & Rotor setup w/PS .540 diameter american made S16-d arm. Above run is on 1000' track; likes just a light film of glue on tires on clean track.

Re: next rail

Surprise, & disapointed... tried this one with a Kkoford 19 last night, geared 13/48. much slower! Tried it first with the .980 x .435s it originally had, could not break .900. later with 1" x.300 got to .890. I think the can on the Koford 19 is the problem, it seems to be warped & the motor is not sitting square in the chassis. May put the original motor back in...

Re: next rail

Changed the motor back in October to a PS C can with neos, & PS .550 Big Bloc  20 arm. RUNS GREAT!!! turns .850 -  .860 in 1/4 mi. Lots of air gam. Currently has Boss 490 arm, best it has gone is .880, thinking I have to play with gearing...
