Re: Dragster Build

Here is how i am mounting the model motor to the chassi. nothing new i am sure.

http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s391/montage925/slotcarmotor.jpg

Motor mount required to be narrowed as seen in pic. Motor is offset to allow crown gear clearance.

Re: Dragster Build

Thanks guys

I ran it last night but did not get a read for times, i need to add some weight to the front but it did run smooth without wheelie bars, my guess would be 1.350's.

Re: Dragster Build

That's a nice ride Eric!  Have you seen the new JDS fuel tank / weight bar?  I think it's 11 grams and it sits over the guide flag and screws into it with a long 2/56 screw (that's in the bag)....  It looks pretty cool, I think it's made of stainless?  That car looks really good,  it might look a little better than just sticking a pile of lead there....  Just a thought....

Re: Dragster Build

thanks forthe tip Gary, i will look into it. there is some clearance under the flag to add weight and will not show. not sure how much it needs as it ran smooth just did not register.

Re: Dragster Build

Hey bigblock can you tell me what up with the small lead wire, dose it hert performance any
My dragster weighs 68 grams Id like it to weigh less, By geting rid of the big lead wire would help
Thanks  Clyde

Re: Dragster Build

Hi Clyde, it is Korford wire, solid with clear coating. does not hurt power performance as i run on other cards with bigger motors. Some say it is better than regular lead wire. you do need to scrap the coating off at the soldering points.

Re: Dragster Build

Hey BIGBLOCK, did it run 1.380s after you went out with it in the second round, was that on your way home?

D, you are hitting below the belt!  Hehehehe.....

Eric, that isn't too far off of what you predicted!  Good job!  Looks great and sounds like it runs good!
