Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

I started this post almost 9 months ago and never got the extra time to build a good one.  Finally I caught up on all my work last month and got the chance to build a Raffle Car fr the Harley Dee Race.

I wanted a mild neo car that was easy to glue for brackets.  I chose the tall tire $10 Wrp Inline frame, DRS HD Camaro body and Hawk motor with a X12 arm with those custom tires that work so well.

The little motor was .480 dia. and .565 airgap geared 15/52 for a few more rpm.

I was looking for .725 to .800 final ET range.

At the HD race I made a good pass on the class racing glue that was down and it popped off a .737 @ 72+ mph and I was pleased.

Now that I got started, my next car will be a keeper,  I am going to try for Novaz record of .606
@ 90+ mph, but with the $10 frame, sticking with the HD Camaro.  The only Difference is I will use the short tire frame this time.  Motor will start out as a 27 but will probably have to go to an open to get the ET where I want it.  My newest little 6 mag with the 33/27 arm may do the trick.

Stay tuned,
Timmy

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

Hi guys....
It started out as bet, my buddy wanted to see if it was possible to run an out of the bag neo
in a dragster chassis and go .6 or better.
The car weighs 68 grams running 1 1/16 by 435 pro tracks, geared at 52/14.  It took several runs to figure out how this combination wanted to be glued.  It ran a best of .697 @ 52 and change mph.  I will work on the combination more and I know it can go quicker.  Will post more results later.

Ok, Timmy, I dug this thread up from the dead....  I had to dig this car out since the GT is a little beat up....

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

Just a quick Question. Have any of you considered using a hard body funny car as a body? Their narrow for aero have good downforce for the big end and have a long wheelbase for smooth chassis action. Just my $2.49 inflation adjusted 2 cents worth.

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

New member Ray for Top Slots in OKC!  Our Neo 20 F/C class had its first race Sunday the 19th at TSR.  3 cars so far with 2 more to come soon.  Ray ran his Inline WRP $10 chassis to a .674 @ 81 MPH in Qualifying, setting the future bar to be challenged!  Way to Go Ray!!!  He built his own 20 with PROSLOT drag can and endbell.  I think Koford arm, air gap is HUGE at .050 to .060 per side.  Not even shunt wired yet.  The chassis was built by Ole Timmy.  It is the car I raffled off last year at the Harley Dee Race.  Looks like this could be a very fun class, look under low budget builds for the rules.

Congrats Ray!

Timmy
