Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

My race partner Albert built a Fiat altered that's neo powered.  This car is nuts.  85 grams, inline, Hawk motor, .102 thick n50 neos with a 27 arm.  We were messing with it the other night...  It spent most of it's time on the floor, bouncing off both guardrails and stuffing the pillow.  I think we hurt it when it spun at half track.  I haven't taken it apart yet, that's for tomorrow....

Anyway, numbers were .099 60', .812 @ 54 and change.  It was spinning BIG time....    No downforce and a unaerodynamic body = lots of tire spin from half track on, even with a TON of glue down....

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

Gary you just need a set of OUTLAW SPRINT CAR wing on the top of that altered

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

The Fiat is cool!  David, you're right, it needs a wing!

Oh man, you guys are a bad influence on me.....  Especially Timmy for thinking up this deal.... Hehehe...   Thought about making a gear change to get it off the line easy and let it run on the top end, but I'm not sure that I want to see this one run over 70 mph.  It might take flight and hurt somebody....  Might be time to try something normal for a change....

Nice!!!!  Kinda cool how fast you can go with old recycled parts!  Dirk, what are you using for your inline car?  MM/PS would be cool!!!!

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

I hear ya Gary!
I am really looking forward to this week in my shop, forecast is 108, 107, 110, 111, 109, 109, 109 the next 7 days.
EXTREME SARCASM, LOL!

I am not working on anything until the heat breaks.

I got a car inspection sticker from an old cantankerous man that has had the same station for 50+ yrs.  I asked him a question, he cut me off before I finished.  His answer was I have been in Texas for 73 yrs and I can't remember a Summer like this one ever.

I will get one built though and run it at TSR, I want an linline lexan to run in the .6's with a 12 arm.

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

We are getting old.....  I had to drive with the windows open in my car last week cause the a/c had a leak....  I almost died!! Lol!!!

There is a guy out here that races a Parma Holeshot chassis in the Neo 12 class.  He's gone low .7's at 80 grams (our rules are 70 grams)....

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

Here's a body someone could use for this project. It comes in at 63.2 grams. Rear wheel area measures at: 2 1/2" wide.

Dvan and Ron
I ran this car last night after receiving it from Ron who did an excellent job on the shipping thanks Ron
1.003@ 62mph & 1.009 @57 mph unfortunately it ran through the shut down and into the foam on both occasions
this was with a Timmy 12 arm neo and there was some spin at the top end which may account for the crash landings
I am going to trim the body a bit more and relocate the pins may also try some wider tires there is a bunch of room .

Novaz did you remove Rons' "magical" weight of the front of the chassis?
Ron likes them weights.....

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

Just went .483 in the 1/8 with a hard tail dragster with no wheelie bar. The car weighs 108g. Also ran a .488. Can't get it consistent though. I think it's riding on one wheel about the first 8 or 10 feet. I need help with which way the motor is torquing the car to try and counter that torque. I've moved the motor to the right looking from the back of the car about .040 and spaced the left rear tire out .100. Is there any thing else I can do to try and fix this problem?

Re: Neo InLine, Is the Challenge on? Something New!

Bill isn't the drivers perspective the same as from the rear of the car.
