Roger IS open in Bloomington.
Drag strip is iffy at this point.  What's there is not so good.  Room is a bit tight for a "proper" 1/4 mile with enough shutdown.
Call the man.  Same phone # as the old shop.

Google Hudy Triggerman Pro for finished pics.  You can send your unit in for up-fitting.  Dale's (Triggerman) info will be found in your google search.

If you want to install your own kit, that would be the "Triggerman Knob Job".

I was unable to find the Knob Job kit on Eagle Distributing website.  Crawley or ERI may carry them.  The Triggerman stuff may still be a "cottage industry" upgrade, available only from the guy who makes it.

I know its awkward asking another grown man about "Knob Jobs by Triggerman", but you gotta do what you gotta do...

No harm, no foul.

Other websites are not the real reason for declining member/readership.  Social media is to blame.  The "500" is a valuable resource, as older information is readily accessible.

And, sometimes, porn is accepable around here.  As long as it is slot car/model car porn!

The guy who produces the commercially available Gasser chassis kit was trying to develop a rule set for a class.  Haven't heard or seen anything about it since.

Check with your local track...see if they have rules for a gasser class.  If all else fails, talk with your local racers and develop your own rule set.

I am not trying to be a dic....tator, but rules are rules:Forum rulesRules: Please don't link or post pornographic materials. You will be banned. If your a track owner or someone representing a track, please check with bracket500 before adding your website link. Do not post any commercial web links, or compete with items from advertisers on bracket500 without permission from bracket500.

My reasoning is this;

Commercial sponsorship of this site has declined in the past few years.  Commercial sponsors, (Thanks Paul!), make this site possible in its current format.  Do you want to see banner ads cluttering the place up here?

Slot car racing, drag racing in particular, is a niche market.  There are only a handful of slot drag sites still frequented by enthusiasts.  B500 is one of them, and I would really prefer if it was able to stick around.

Now, if you wanna let someone know where to get the scoop on 1/43 slot drag racing, the PM feature is at your disposal.

Hudy with Triggerman conversion/mod.  Easy to make 2 tires the exact same size without pulling the tire off to measure.  He also verifies the truer is "true".  I have two of these truers, but I make my own tires.

Gonna need a Power supply too, unfortunately.  One capable of at least 8 amps.

Luckily, you only need to buy these items ONCE.

Most of the JDS/WRP tires are "okay" out of the tube.  Pro-Tracks aren't too bad, either.  But seeing how they are mass produced, it never hurts to check 'em.

Measure each tire.  If one is a teeny bit smaller, you will have a bear of a time setting wheelie bars and getting the car to go straight.  It is way easier to get a new set of tires dialed in if they are both the same size.

Here we go, boys!

Not to mention, off setting the motor to the left slightly will help the car on launch.

Not really.  A tapered 14/15 tooth pinion is still the same size on the side that faces the can.  Not to mention a tapered pinion costs twice as much as the regular Sonic pinion.

Well, one of the reasons for running inlines is the increased tire clearance for .500 wides.  No biggie if the chassis is under a late model Mustang or Camaro, but its a tight squeeze under....let's say an Opel.

Making a wider motor bracket is going to require a wider or angled guide tongue, too.  Not a really big deal on the laser cut kits, but would be a huge investment for the die cut/die formed/stamped chassis kits.  (bye bye $9.99 WRP kits)

Bust out the Dremel with a diamond burr, and go to town on the bracket.
