sounds like you are getting everything out of it . did you brace the motor bracket to the side rails?  you might try ball bearings on the rear axle ,but the gain may not be worth the money or tenths of a second. might try the Parma Edge Lexan body  for light weight an aerodynamics . Have fun

I do not know if this will help  , but there used to be a man named Timmy that hung out here , built a wild 6 segment Neo magnet motor . at one time had some for sale on E-bay .do not know if he still build or not but lives in Texas / Oklahoma area .maybe someone knows more

I would guess the BIGGEST your bankroll can afford to buy or be build. Either pro slot or koford . ball bearings ,neo magnets , shunt wires.  Ball bearings on axle  and an aero clean body have fun and good luck

Good looking  NO Bar , what motor you using to push it  to .955  an does the body drag track at launch .  I'm building a No Bar, with a drop guide arm -hinge point just ahead of motor , a WRP sidewinder motor bracket . Second frame work extends from motor bracket to front of car front wheels  and body supported so there weight will be lifted by motor . second frame made of piano wire and 1/8Th" X 1/4" brass strips . using old 66 Gto body for test runs . will add 21 grams lead chunks to space behind front grill and 21 grams on drop guide arm , motor will be big block 20 ball bearing on can , ball bearings on axles . tires are 1 1/16Th" X  .500   maybe a few weeks before test runs . will report on results

1-4-2015  Down River Speedway , tried my No Bar  glued up and launched fine ,no braid spark ran true even after breaking loose just passed 60 Ft. mark and spinning rest of 1/4.
made second pass same result same could glue and run till out of glue then up in smoke so I shut down .. Need new tires and will go again . looks good so far

In my opinion ; Parma S16D , not the rotor , have had endbell shift time while racing, super glue cures this. I've kept records for 3 years and the Parma S16D held times for longer period than others , not fastest , but steady

a slow car painted white, bright yellow ,glow orange . gets more red lights due to high visibility  on the track , and appears closer finish line than it is  dark colors do not catch the eye . Gearing I like 10th pinion just cause it makes it easier to figure ratio and a crown or side winder gear 52-60  depending on tire height , taller the tire the more teeth , not as effected so bad by down track glue later in races as you peak about half track.. as far as weight I have run 450-500 gram no bar hunks of lead -no matter how you gear it  they will punish a motor from the can bushing to com and  brushes

real fun is to run up against a slow car, dial close to him and keep playing with the throttle to just pass him at the end  , very hard to do ,but can be mastered , lol , hope to get to the track more often an see you there Juggler

No , just I have not came up with a system that is as dependable as just adjusting by soldering.. The best part of this hobby is being able to invent , try things ,so first sketch it out on paper ,see what parts are available and go for it !  the  ridged system just works cause I rarely race at different tracks or change tires and run low powered cars not as sensitive to bar height ..warm up the Iron ,wire cutter ,and go for it !

they are a lot of work and I gave up on doing it .Just use threaded control rod used for r/c aircraft with brass turn buckles that thread on with a locking nut ;solder one end to upper motor bracket , angle down to a brass plate attached with upright bends on the out side drill holes in uprights too fasten turn buckles  to . need lower wheelie wheels  screw out turn buckles forcing lower bars down , opposite to raise ... they snag things , solder joints break at wrong time.. I'm for keeping it simple

another thing , fairly simple to add a relay to the Parma controller to bypass the resistor when it hits full pull on the trigger .if you want to drop a few decimal points of resistance

has anyone tried the Radio Shack big round 9-18v super speed motor , as hard to get a good padlock ,or open side plate motors are  .  Cost about 6 bucks , has brushes inside the can, large diameter armature and add says max rpm is 18,000 (which I find doubtful) but it may make an  available motor for a bar less  class of it's own.. just a suggestion for a cheap motor that may have  the right speed range for vintage cars.

A great controller to own ,nice part is will be around to be a back up ,when you do get your 300 dollar electronic gismo with all the bells and lights , and if you want to go road raceing just buy a 3 or 4 ohm wet wound resistor put it in and go

start thinking more aerodynamics ,getting fast enough to lift down track , weight is the enemy and  what you have to balance between front and rear

take and cut  2 pieces of weight goop(glue) to side area between axle bushing an motor mount plate , take cut parts off that big center chunk to put on each side of the guide ,then a hunk in the body low as possible behind the grill, change gear ratio to what DVan said , lighten to 150 -160 ...

Plus more Knowledge on that page to make the gray matter light up , a great source

leave everything were it is ,except go up to 14Th pinion ,looks like you still have a little spin in the 60Ft time, 1 tooth more my be enough to help both the 60Ft and Mph.

I oil the end bell bushing one time every 4 races or after a flushing with lighter fluid . can and axle  bushings  at the start of the racing warm up and  can an axle bushings again IF I make it through the 3Rd round ,I do not touch the end bell bushing. I feel the most load is put on the can bushing so it needs a little oil to reduce wear.http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/sleep.png

If you can get more tire clearance do so ,they will really expand 1/16th of an inch or more , you do not need tire rub , just watch for broken solder joint at the top brace to wheelie bar connection . A nice looking model , owned a real one in yellow ,the mini-vett was fun to drive!
