Boss, Big Block 550, or VR12 should do it at a reasonable cost.

Got a VR12 I want to put in a hardbody slip joint for the 18th, what should I gear it?

Is a VR12 better in a light car, or can it handle a heavy car? Is it an RPM or torque motor?

Since you usually need to add some weight to the front of the car, I would think the balance point should be nearer the front of the car.

Koford drag 20 (M525-20) or the Proslot VR12 neo drag motor? Looking to put it in my no bar for the 1/8th, and which gears?

Anyone have good pics of a front wheel drive chassis, or link to something. I have a new Mini style body I want to do in front wheel drive, there is no room between front wheels and front of car.

This will give you a rough estimate, there are a lot of variables so is an estimate.

I need something a little better than a S16D for my no bar cars and am looking at the proslot X12 3000 and the Champion CH-510-XTH and the Koford Hawk with X12 arm KOF-M647,  anyone have experience these?
Also, is the X12 better than a X15 for the drags?

Don't know about fis rubber but I am running a 69 Camaro hard body with a boss motor, 11/62 gears, and JDS 1.030 x .285 tires, no glue and only roll out to the tree. I am switching all my cars to JDS when they need new tires and all my new builds get JDS.

The Parma Edge chassis is not a bad place to start, they are sturdy, consistant, and economical, just probably need to change the tires. That will get you up and running, then you can get into building your own.

Are the tires that come on an Edge any good? Just looking for something that will run mid 7s in the 1/8th.

What long brass pieces? Are you talking about the tubes the spring part goes thru? For that I used the same tubing I used for the hinge.

Go to local hobby shop and get spring steel, I think I use .o62 for frame and .050 for the sliders or whatever they are called. I also got a stick of brass tubing that is 3/32 id for the hinge and I can also cut it for axle spacers.

My latest no bar, running a slip joint, .285 tires, evil 9 motor, best run of .798 in 1/8, consistant .802s.
I think there is more in it, would a s16d be a step up from the evil 9? Might try a PS2101 and see if it can hold that.

Can anyone tell me about this type controller, who makes one, what the advantage is? I saw one called a Yugo throttle stop but can't find who sells them or if they even still exist. I do mostly bracket racing.

What is the most consistant motor for under $20.00? I have had some luck with Hawk 6 but feel there must be something a bit more consistant.

I run the JDS 7011 tire in various sizes on everything from a mid six car to a 1.500 car and like them better than the Pro Track I had before.

Professor Motor is one source, and there is always ebay. Have you asked the local track if they would order parts for you on their regular order?

Got to the track, only need to add interior card. Running JDS tires, 9/46 gears and oillites. Had to dremmel the inside of the oilite and the crown gear to get it to fit. Stock chassis and braids(the worst on earth) and velcro mounting. Ran consistant 9.60s and very smooth.
